Sidewalks
The property owner is responsible for the maintenance, repair and/or replacement of sidewalk abutting their property.
If a sidewalk falls into a state of disrepair, becomes unsafe or impassible, and the owner fails to repair the same after receipt of notice from the township, the township may, but shall not be required to, repair the same and assess the cost thereof against the property on which the repair was made.
Repair Costs to be Treated Same as Taxes - The costs of repair shall be collected and treated in the same manner as real property taxes assessed under the general laws of the State of Michigan.
