4 Pitch Rules 10-12 & Under
RULES FOR 4-PITCH 10-12 UNDER
1. All games will be"4-pitch". No balls or strikes will be called, and your own adult pitcher will pitch to your team. Your batter has 4 pitches to hit a fair ball or they are out. If the fourth pitch is fouled off, the batter gets one more
2. The ball will be thrown overhand from a distance of 35 feet unless otherwise agreed upon by the division coaches.
3. If the ball is hit out of the infield, the adult pitcher is to go outside the baseline, between home and first base or third and home.
4. No leading off is allowed. There is no stealing.
5. No bunting is allowed in the division.
6. Once the ball has stopped in the infield, the runners will stop at the base they are headed to.
7. Everyone on each team will be placed in the batting order and will bat in that order.
8. An eight (8) run limit per inning or once thru the batting order, whichever comes first.
9. Ten (10) players will be used on defense. Four (4) players must be in the outfield. Unlimited substitutions of fielders. The batting order may not be changed once the game is in progress.
10. No infield fly rule.
SPECIFIC RULES FOR 10 & UNDER SOFTBALL
1. The infield fly rule is in effect when there are less then two outs with runners on first and second, or if the bases are loaded
2. All games will be "4-Pitch". No balls or strikes will be called, and your own pitcher will pitch to your team.
3. The coach is allowed two (2) one (1) minute trips to the mound per inning, after which the pitcher must be changed.
4. No leading off or stealing.
5. If the ball hits the pitcher it is a dead ball.
6. Dead balls don't count as a strike or a ball; it's not considered a pitch.
SPECIFIC RULES FOR 12 & UNDER SOFTBALL
1. The infield fly rule is in effect.
2. Bunting is allowed.
3. Breaking on a pitch is allowed, but there is no stealing.
4. Ten (10) players will be used on defense. Four (4) must be in the outfield.
5. Hitter may not advance on a past ball or the 3rd strike.
6. Pitcher may use any underhand softball style.
SPECIFIC RULES FOR 10 & UNDER BASEBALL
1. The infield fly rule is in effect when there are less then two (2) outs with runners on first and second, or if the bases are loaded.
2. Bunting is allowed.
3. The coach is allowed two (2) one (1) minute trips to the mound per inning, after which pitcher must be changed.
4. Pitchers are allowed seven (7) innings per week. One (1) pitch constitutes one (1) inning.
5. Base stealing is allowed only on a passed ball. Leading off is not allowed.
6. Hitter may not advance on a 3rd strike past ball.
7. Breaking on the pitch is allowed.
Specific Rules for 12 & Under Boys Baseball
1. The infield fly rule is in effect
2. Balks by the pitcher. Warning will be given per game before a balk will be called.
3. The coach is allowed two one-minute trips to the mound per inning, after which the pitcher must be changed.
4. Pitchers are allowed 7 innings per week. One pitch constitutes one inning.
5. No player may advance, unless the ball is hit or a play is made on any base runner. Base advancement on pass ball
6. Hitter may not advance on 3rd strike.
