RULES FOR T-BALL

Volunteer umpires. (Parents)

  1. T-Ball is structured to be non-competitive. As a result although players will go through the process of scoring runs and getting batters out, no record will be kept of runs or outs.
  2. Each team will bat thru their complete batting order. (Note: It may be a good idea to rotate your batting order so all of your players get a chance to run the bases.
  3. All players will take the field with a maximum of 6 players on the infield.
  4. The batter will get four swings. If the tee is hit on the fourth swing, the batter will only get one more chance.
  5. On a ball hit to the outfield the base runners may advance as far as possible, but once the ball reaches the infield the runner must stop at the base they are headed. There is no advance on a passed ball.
  6. The umpire will place the ball on the tee, but the coaches are allowed to help position the batter and change the height of the tee.
  7. The ball must be hit past the ten-foot arc to be a fair ball. If the batter hits the tee and not the ball, it is not a hit, but is counted as one swing. (Umpires judgment)
  8. If the batter throws their bat, a warning will be given. A second throwing of the bat will result in a missed turn of their next scheduled bat.
  9. Catchers will wear a batting helmet only and stand behind the backstop when the batter is at the plate.
