Welcome to Carrollton Township
Carrollton Township was organized as a General Law Township on January 4, 1866. The 2000 Census recorded a population of 6,602. [The 1870 Census lists only 689 names.] Small in size (3.6 square miles), but big in community spirit, we have a 24-hour/7-day a week police department, a fully equipped on-call fire department, a K-12 Public School system, youth recreation programs, multi-service governmental offices, and a public works department. A township board comprised of a Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and two Trustees, all of whom are elected to serve four-year terms, conducts government of the township.
